Situated
in the Monts d'Ardèche Natural Regional Park, the Mas du Tracol is 5
kms from Les Vans, itself the ideal place for rambles, horse and donkey
rides, canoeing, kayaking, canyoning, swimming, fishing, cycling of all
kinds, hang gliding, potholing, or simply visiting the astounding
natural beauty spots of the region. All this throughout the whole
year due to the Mediterranean climate which reigns here in the south of
the Ardeche.

After
the day's activities, you will appreciate the calm of the Mas
surrounded by 8 hectares of private land, arranged in terraces
("faysses") and overlooking the Cevennes mountains and several
valleys. You will be able to amble through 60 kinds of
Mediterranean plants.

The
property is located in the middle of a well-preserved estate off the
beaten track, and reached by forest track, where you can immerse
yourself in the Provencal perfumes of lavender, wild thyme, rosemary,
pines, olive trees, etc. A path alongside the Mas offers the
chance of a fine walk in the nature with beautiful scenery.

In
order to ensure calm for each and everyone, as well as for the wildlife
which has its territory in the immediate surroundings, we are unable to
accept our four-legged friends. To respect the health and
security of all, smoking is not allowed in any part of the property.
Part of the water supply comes from a well and rainwater. The heating is supplied in part by solar panels.
If
you are respectful of nature, if you are looking for authenticity, pure
air and calm as well as authentic products of the region, then this
place will delight you. We look forward to your visit!

Of
share its site in protected and classified zone, our bed and breakfast
is naturally chosen an ecological and responsible way of life. This
engagement was worth us to obtain the ecological label European Òkey
greenÓ For
us, for our hosts and for the generations to come, we arrange our house
unceasingly in order to minimize with better the impact which tourism
can have on the environment.
Thus =- we
installed water savers (wash-hand basins, showers, WC) in order not to
exhaust this invaluable resource. Thank you with you to be responsible
and to limit your consumption to the necessary one.
- we thus let us clean your hand towels that if you wish it.
- we gradually let us replace the bulbs by the economic ones.
- we
let us propose to you breakfasts meals resulting from regional
products, small local producers, market of Vans, with if possible
biological products, we use the aromatic plants and flowers of the
property untreated. The bread, jams and aperitifs are house.
In
your rooms, not of air-conditioning (except roulotte) because the
stones preserve a very natural freshness in summer. To have less
packing we replaced the cakes of soap by washing creams ecological.our parks does not receive pesticides nor chemicals and is sprinkled with rain or spring water which we recover.
We
leave the 3/4 of spaces in natural waste lands, which makes it possible
the biodiversity to settle. Do not think that the accesses of the house
are not maintained, we leave this waste land in order to nourish the
birds, insects and butterflies which are numerous and certain wild
plants or "bad grasses" are found in our platesÉ.Thus with the
Farmhouse, not of grass but a free vegetation - we
set up a selectif sorting for glass, paper and the plastics. You will
find these bags in the kitchen of summer. If you have stale bread or
salad remainders, give us, our hens can recycle them very well and for
the peelings of fruits and vegetables, our lombrics gives a very good
compost in the lombricompostor (we can you show it if that interests
you)
- we,
as far as possible, use ecological products for all the maintenance of
the house and rooms (toilet paper, detergent, crockery, grounds, WC,
etc;
- the hot water and the heating is partly solar
- dirty
waters go in the septic tank, thank you thus to throw in the WC only
the toilet paper at disposal, of the small dustbins are for the
remainder in each bathroom

summer with complete documentation and books on Ardeche. You can
